Budapest - transportation

Budapest is a walkable city making it easy to orient yourself and get a genuine feel for the city. Should you find yourself in need of public transportation, there are numerous options provided by the Budapest Transportation Company (BVK).

Highly efficient trams, busses and an underground metro system run frequently. Getting around Budapest is not a problem and most public transportation runs from 4:30am to 11:30pm daily.

Always remember to validate your metro pass onboard buses, trams and the underground. Fines for passengers without validated tickets can be pricey and trying to communicate adds to the confusion.
